Ingredients to make Haldi ka achar

  • Fresh turmeric 1/2 kg
  • fenugreek seeds powdered 2tsp
  • red chilly powder 4tsp
  • Black salt 4tsp
  • asafoetida powder 4tsp
  • fennel seeds powdered 4tsp
  • salt 4tsp
  • lemon juice 1cup
  • mustard oil 200 grams

How to make Haldi ka achar

  1. After washing properly the turmeric should be peeled and grated .
  2. Heat up the oil and add all the spices except lemon juice, let them fry for 5minutes.
  3. Add grated turmeric in this mixture of spices and oil, cook more 15minutes on slow heat.
  4. Now put it off from the stove , let it be cool so that you will be able to transfer it to the pre cleaned and dried container.
  5. Remember to fill container to the half or leave the space for 1cup lemon juice.
  6. Now lid the jar and keep it at a place to get the direct sunlight for a whole day.
  7. Next day add lemon juice to the pickle and keep for 4-5days in sunlight.
  8. After four days your turmeric pickle is ready to relish.

My Tip:

Remember to add the lemon juice after full day of keeping pickle in sunlight.
