Tamatari Arbi

Ingredients to make Tamatari Arbi

  • Arbi 250gms
  • tomatoes 3large
  • onions 2 medium
  • garlic 5
  • haldi powder 1/2 tsp
  • dhania powder 1tsp
  • Lal mirch powder 1/2tsp
  • Garam masala 1tsp
  • jeera powder 1 tsp
  • Ajwaain 1tsp
  • salt according to the taste
  • oil 2tbsp
  • water as required

How to make Tamatari Arbi

  1. Peel and wash Arbi, cut as you desire.
  2. Cut tomatoes and Onions in 1/4 pieces.
  3. Take a chopper and add tomatoes onions and garlic. Blend roughly.
  4. Take a pressure pan. Add oil and put ajwain. When ajwain sputters add paste from chopper. Saute well for a minute.
  5. Now add all dry masalas and water to make a gravy. Stir well.
  6. Add Arbi and mix well.
  7. Close the pressure cooker and let cook for 3 whistles.
  8. Tamatari Arbi is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati.

My Tip:

Gravy should not be so thick no watery. For best taste add garlic in the end as minced, then it will give great flavour.
