ABOUT Maxican brown rice RECIPE

I love it  It is really filling and tastes so fresh. Also, it is loaded with dietary fiber and healthy proteins.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup Brown rice
  2. 1 small onion
  3. 3 to 4 garlic cloves
  4. 1/2 cup peas
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1 tbsp tomato paste
  7. 1 tsp curry powder
  8. 1 tsp chilli powder


  1. Clean the brown rice using water and set it aside by soaking it in water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add minced garlic and saute, Add onion and saute until translucent
  3. Add in tomato pe seasonings including chili powder, salt, curry powder and mix it well
  4. Drain all the water from rice and add it to the tomato mixture.
  5. Then add green peas and sufficient water mix it well
  6. Simmer the rice (covered) for about 35-45 min or until tender
  7. Turn off the heat.
  8. Serve warm to enjoy this bowl of healthy Mexican brown rice.
