Ingredients to make Khatta Meetha Aam ka achar

  • Mangoes - 3 kg
  • mustard oil - 1 litre
  • sugar 1.5 kg or 2 kg as per taste
  • saunf 200 gms
  • Meethi seeds 50 gms
  • Kalaungi - 1 tsp
  • red chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper powdered - 1 tsp
  • salt 1 tsp

How to make Khatta Meetha Aam ka achar

  1. First wash mangoes then clean with cloth. Cut them in big pieces. Keep in sunlight for 3 hours.
  2. Then heat oil in a pan till it raw smell goes or gets smoky.
  3. Fry all the pieces to brown color or till they are cooked. You will get an idea.
  4. Keep all fried pieces in a big vessel and let it cool to room temperature.
  5. Meanwhile grind all sugar to a fine powder.
  6. Then take 4-5 tbsp of oil in which mangoes were fried in a big pan. Heat oil on a low flame.
  7. Add all the dry ingredients except sugar. Then add mangoes and sugar in it in batches.
  8. Keep on mixing it with big serving spoon with light hand. When all added. Turn off the gas. Let it cool completely.
  9. Fill in jar pour 2-3 tbsp oil left from above. Close jar and keep in sunlight for 3-5 days. Keep on shaking the jar in between.
