ABOUT Cupcake Idli (Microwave) RECIPE

Idli made in a cupcake shape quick to make and good for kids.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Semolina (Suji) - 1 cup
  2. Curd (Dahi) - 2 tbsp
  3. Eno (Fruit Salt) - 1 Sachet
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Oil - 1 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds (rai) - 1/4 tsp
  7. Green chillies - 2 finely chopped
  8. Turmeric powder (haldi) - 1 pinch
  9. Red chilli powder (lal mirchi powder) - 1/4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Combine semolina, curd and salt with 1 cup of water in a deep bowl, mix well, cover it. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  2. After 10 minutes add eno and pour the batter into silicon cupcake moulds. Place it in the microwave and cook on high for 2 .5 minutes on micro mode.
  3. Allow the idlis to cool slightly and de-mould them.
  4. Repeat with the remaining batter to make more idlis.
  5. For tempering: Heat 1 tsp of oil in a small pan and add the mustard seeds.
  6. When the seeds crackle, add the green chillies and saute for a few seconds.
  7. Add Red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  8. Pour the tempering over the idlis.
  9. Serve hot with green chutney and tomato sauce.
