ABOUT Soft Idlis(Urad dal & Idly Rava) RECIPE

Idlys are very healthy since we wont use oil we can have them at any time.Even people who are not well they can have these idlys.Idlys is daily routine breakfast in south india.In Andrapradesh,Telangana,Karnataka idly are made up of blackgram and idly rava where as in tamilnadu they will made with blackgram and rice.Both are taste good .Here iam showing is rava idlis.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Black gram skinless - 2 cups
  2. Idly rava - 5 cups
  3. Salt as required
  4. Water as required

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak skinless black gram and idly rava seperately for 4 hours.
  2. After that strain the water and grind the soaked black gram into fine paste in a wet grinder.
  3. Once it is done remove the batter from wet grinder.
  4. Remove the water from the rava slowly and squeeze water from rava and add it to the batter.
  5. Mix well both rava and black gram paste to make idly batter.
  6. Ferment full night and use it in the morning breakfast by adding adequate salt init.
  7. Pour water into the idly maker tin and let the water boil.
  8. Wet the idly moulds with water and pour the idly batter up to the 3l4 level since it puffs after steaming.
  9. Place all the stands in the idly maker and close the lid of it and let it steam for 20 minutes.
  10. After that switch off the stove and let it cool for 5 minutes so that we can demould the idlys easily.
  11. Our hot idlys are ready to eat with any kind of chutney or sambar.
