ABOUT Dry black channa puri RECIPE

These channa are spicy and without onion and garlic,easy to make and can be enjoyed with roti/parantha but best tastes with puri.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For channa
  2. Black channa boilec -1 .5 cup
  3. Oil -1 tbsp
  4. Cumin seeds -1 tsp
  5. Dry coriander crushed-1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
  7. Dry mango powder-1 tsp
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. Dry red chilli whole- 2
  10. For puri:
  11. Wheatflour-1 .5 cup
  12. Salt half tsp
  13. Clarrified butter 2 tbsp
  14. Carrom seeds-1/2 tsp optional
  15. Oil for frying
  16. Water to knead the dough

Instructions

  1. For channa ,take a pan add oil to it.
  2. As it heats, add two red chillies after breaking from centre.
  3. Next add cumin seeds,coriander,salt ,turmeric powder.
  4. Then boiled channas ,give a mix
  5. Next add dry mango powder.
  6. Cover pan with lid and cook at low flame for 5 minutes.keep stirring in between
  7. After 5 minutes,ready to serve.
  8. For puri: Seive the flour Add salt and carrom seeds to it.
  9. Now add clarrified butter mix well.
  10. Add water in batches and knead dough not too soft or hard.
  11. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes
  12. After 20 minutes Grease rolling pin with oil
  13. Take small portion of dough say small lemon size
  14. Roll it down in small roti or puri size
  15. Heat oil
  16. Add puri one at a time ,press it from centre lightly ,it will puff.
  17. Fry it from both sides.till golden brown. Serve hot.
