Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 1/2 cup ragi flour
  2. 1 Cup water
  3. 1 tsp ghee
  4. 1/2 cup chopped vegetables for filling(carrot, radish, red cabbage etc. optional)

Instructions

  1. In a pot add salt, 1 tbsp ragi flour to water and mix well to remove any lumps.
  2. Now start to cook on a medium flame.
  3. When the mixture begins to boil rapidly, add the rest of the ragi flour slowly.
  4. Take off the pot from the stove, and stir well with a wooden stick to prevent lumps.
  5. Bring the flour together to the center of the pot, this helps to trap the steam in the flour.
  6. Again keep the pot on the stove, cover and cook on a low flame for about 3 minutes without burning.
  7. Switch off the stove and leave it as it is covered. When the temperature comes down, grease your palms with ghee and roll it to balls.
  8. Any chopped vegetables can be used for filling while making the ragi balls. (This step is optional)
  9. Serve Ragi Balls (mudde) with your favorite gravy or sambar.
