Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Colocasia roots/arbi-1/2 kg
  2. Carom seeds/ajwain-2 tablespoons
  3. Garlic Paste-3 tablespoons
  4. Red chilli powder- 1/2 teaspoon or to taste
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Atta/wheat flour-4-5 tablespoons
  7. Vegetable oil for shallow frying


  1. Boil the colocasia roots with water in a pressure cooker.
  2. Remove the peels of the colocasia/arbi.
  3. Marinate the arbi with garlic paste, coursely grounded carom seeds/ajwain, salt and red chilli powder for about 1/2 an hour to 1 hour.
  4. Shape the arbi into cutlets gently while taking care that they do not break.
  5. Coat the cutlets with the wheat flour/atta on both the sides.
  6. Shallow fry the cutlets in a non stick pan using oil as required. Serve hot!
