ABOUT Butter Garlic Naan RECIPE

Very simple and tasty naan made without using yeast.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Maida : 2 cup
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Curd : 3 tbsp
  4. Milk : 1/2 cup
  5. Amul salted Butter : 3 tbsp
  6. Baking soda : 3/4 tsp
  7. Garlic : 10-15 fat cloves or 3-4 tbsp grated or crushed
  8. Sugar : 2 tbsp
  9. Water as needed (i did not use)
  10. Coconut powder : 2 tbsp (optional)
  11. Butter for brushing on top


  1. Take curd, milk, baking soda and sugar in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Crush or grate garlic very finely. Set aside. In another bowl take maida, salt, garlic, oil. Mix with your hands.
  3. Add in milk mix and knead it to soft dough. Take little bit of oil in hands and knead it again. Cover it and let it rest for 1 hour, don't keep it in fridge.
  4. After 1 hour again with little oil in hand knead the dough again. Divide it into equal balls.
  5. Roll it into rounds (i used atta for rolling it) make it like a roti and then brush butter on it and sprinkle coconut powder on it ( coconut powder is optional but it tastes good).
  6. Pat the roll lightly with hand. And make round shape naan.
  7. Heat pan till hot. Slow the flame, take naan on the hand and wet the top of the naan with water and then flip the water side down on hot pan and brush the top of the naan with butter/oil. Cook on slow flame.
  8. Invert the pan on direct flame and switch the flame on high and let it cook till black spots appear on it.
  9. Sometimes naan stick to the pan remove it with the help of chimta. When cooked place it on plate and brush it with butter.
