Flaky Butter Flatbread

Ingredients to make Flaky Butter Flatbread

  • Wholewheat dough - prepared a night before
  • 8 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon ajwain/carom seeds
  • salt to taste

How to make Flaky Butter Flatbread

  1. Make a medium tomato sized ball with the dough.
  2. Roll into 1/2 inch thickness. Spread two tablespoon butter and a pinch of ajwain on rolled roti. Spread evenly.
  3. Now form little strips one on top of another without cutting the dough. Just like a paper fan is made.
  4. You should end up with one big strip and other strips layering underneath it. Roll over to make a roundel, it should look like a dough pinwheel.
  5. Roll into 2 inch thickness and pan fry on low heat until golden and crispy on both sides. Serve hot.

My Tip:

The secret to crispy paranthas is butter so use generously. Also crushed garlic and mixed herbs can be used instead of carom seeds.
