Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Gram flour 1 cup
  2. Butter milk 2 cup
  3. Water 1 cup
  4. Turmeric 1/2 tablespoon
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Ginger and green chilly paste (optional) 1 tablespoon
  7. Oil for tempering
  8. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  9. Teel (sesame ) 1 teaspoon
  10. Curry leaves 4 to 6
  11. Dry chilly 2 to 4
  12. asafoetida 1 tsp
  13. Corainder for garnishing on Khandvi
  14. Dessicated coconut 1 tsp(optional)


  1. Take gram flour. Add water and buttermilk to it. Mix it well. Checkout no lumbs should be there.
  2. Take a pan and pour this batter in it. Stir it continuosly till batter becomes thicken. Now put this batter immediately on a grease platform or grease thali. Spread it with a spatula or scraper in very thin layer on it.
  3. Let it be cool down for 2 minutes. Then cut it with a knife horizontally and then roll it out. Take oil in a pan .Put mustard seeds in it.
  4. Let it cracker for while. Add teel to it. Add curry leaves . Add dry chilly.Finally add Asafoetida to it.
  5. And now finally pour this tempering on Khandvi and garnish it with corainder and dessicated coconut . Our Khandvi is ready to eat friends
