ABOUT Vermicelli Rava Idli RECIPE

An excellent Comfort food! No fermentation, No rice, Ready in minutes and made with whole wheat vermicelli.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup Vermicelli
  2. 1/2 cup rava/ semolina
  3. 1/2 cup curd
  4. 1 teaspoon oil
  5. 5-7 curry leaves
  6. 1/2 teaspoon chana daal
  7. 1/2 teaspoon urad dal
  8. 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
  9. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  10. Salt (to taste)
  11. 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the vermicelli and rava separately.
  2. Take vermicelli in a bowl. Add semolina to it.
  3. Add yogurt and mix well. Add salt and water and mix well.
  4. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Heat oil. Add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal and curry leaves.
  6. Pour this into vermicelli rava mixture.
  7. Add baking soda and mix well.
  8. Put the mix in idli moulds and steam for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Serve with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
