Tri Coloured Karanjee

Ingredients to make Tri Coloured Karanjee

  • For the Dough
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp clarified butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • A pinch edible orange color and edible green color
  • A pinch of salt.
  • For Filling
  • 1/2 cup dessicated coconut
  • 1/4 cup semolina
  • 1 cup sugar powdered.
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • oil for frying
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom Powder
  • A pinch of salt

How to make Tri Coloured Karanjee

  1. First we will make dough.
  2. For dough add salt and ghee to all purpose flour and add enough water to make a soft dough.
  3. Let this rest for some time
  4. Meanwhile let's make the filling.
  5. For filling roast dessicated coconut in a pan till light golden brown and remove it in a plate.
  6. In the same pan add ghee and roast semolina till light golden brown and remove it too in a plate.
  7. Once the coconut and semolina is cooled add in powdered sugar and cardamom powder. Filling is ready.
  8. Now divide the dough into 3 equal parts add orange color in one part and green in other.
  9. First roll out the orange ,white and green dough.
  10. Lightly apply ghee and overlap it with orange , white then apply ghee followed by green.
  11. Now roll it into a tight log and cut into peices and roll each peice,
  12. Place filling and conceal edges.
  13. Deep fry in hot oil till crisp. Store in airtight jar after cooling.
