Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cup rice
  2. 1 large potato
  3. 1 cup fresh green peas
  4. 1 cup homemade mangodi
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1tsp red chili powder
  7. 1tbsp turmeric powder
  8. 1tbsp Coriander powder
  9. 2 chopped onion
  10. 1chopped green chili
  11. 1inch chopped ginger
  12. 1piece cinnamon
  13. 2cloves
  14. 1tsp Cumin seeds
  16. 1 star anise
  17. 1tbsp Ghee
  18. 2tbsp oil


  1. Wash and soak the rice for 5 minutes. peel wash and cut the potatoes into small cubs
  2. Heat ghee in a pan add mangodi and fry until golden. Keep out them.
  3. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan or pressure cooker add cumin, clove, Cinnamon, star anise and black cardamom stir and add Ginger, green chili and onion saute till translucent.
  4. Add turmeric powder red chili powder and coriander powder mix add 1tbsp water cook the masala two minutes.
  5. Add mangodi, matar,potato and rice, add salt and mix it well.
  6. Add 2 glass water cover and cook on slow heat till done.
  7. Serve hot with raita, salad
