Mor Kuzhambu

Ingredients to make Mor Kuzhambu

  • butter milk 1 1/2 cup
  • turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • salt as needed
  • Ladies finger 5
  • To grind - toor dal 1 tsp (Soak for 2 hours)
  • Raw rice 1 tsp (Soak for 2 hours)
  • Green chilli 3
  • ginger piece 1/2 inch
  • coconut 1/4 cup
  • To temper - oil 2 tsp
  • mustard 1/2 tsp
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • Red chilli 1
  • curry leaves a few

How to make Mor Kuzhambu

  1. Beat curd smoothly using a whisk or use a mixi.
  2. In a pan add a few drops of oil and fry broken green chilli and ginger.
  3. Grind soaked toor dal, raw rice, ginger, green chilli, and coconut with a little water to a smooth paste.
  4. Mix it to the beaten curd add turmeric, salt as need.
  5. Mix well, put it over the stove and add ladies finger.
  6. Heat the kuzhambu until it raises and becomes frothy. No need to boil it.
  7. In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard, red chilli, curry leaves and asafoetida.
  8. Pour the kuzhambu to the temper mix it and serve.

My Tip:

You can add any vegetable like brinjal, cucumber and urad dal vada.
