Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 tbsp thuvar dal
  2. 1 tbsp raw rice
  3. 1 green chilli
  4. 1/2" ginger peice
  5. 1 tbsp grated coconut
  6. 3 tbsp water
  7. 1 mediun onion thinly sliced
  8. One small tomato chopped( optional)
  9. few curry leaves
  10. 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  11. 1/4 tesp turmeric
  12. salt as per taste
  13. 1 Cup water
  14. 1 cup thick curds(whisked)
  15. i tbsp oil
  16. 1/2 tesp mustard
  17. 2 dry red chilli
  18. I/4 tesp asafodita
  19. 1/4 tesp cumin seeds


  1. Soak rice and dal in 3 tbsp water for 20 minutes
  2. In a mixi jar add the soaked rice,dal,green chilli, coconut and ginger make a paste adding little water.
  3. Place a kadai with oil on medium heat ,add mustard ,cumin and red chilli and asafodita
  4. Once it splutters add curry leaf and onions saute for a minute,the onions should be crunchy.
  5. Add tomato saute till half cooked, now add salt turmeric mix well.
  6. Add water,when it starts boiling,reduce to low flame and add the ground paste.
  7. It will turn thick switch of the flame add curds and mix well.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves
