Pineapple Sheera

Ingredients to make Pineapple Sheera

  • 1/2 cup pineapple, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup semolina (sooji)
  • 3 tbsp clarified butter (desi ghee)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • A pinch of saffron, soaked in milk
  • saffron strands to garnish
  • Cashew nuts/almonds to garnish
  • pineapple slices to garnish
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

How to make Pineapple Sheera

  1. Heat ghee in a pan, once it's hot, add the sooji and fry it over a low flame until it's well roasted.
  2. Pour in hot milk and mix it slowly. Cook until the sooji absorbs all the milk, then add sugar, raisins, almonds and cashew nuts. Mix all the ingredients well together.
  3. Add pineapple and mix it well. Then add cardamom powder, mix and cook on a low flame till you find traces of ghee oozing out from the mixture.Turn off the flame.The Ananas sheera is ready.
  4. Place a cookie cutter or mould on the serving plate and spoon the sheera into the mould till the top. Pat to set it and remove the mould.
  5. Add the pineapple slices on the plate, decorate the sheera with cashew nuts/almonds and strands of saffron. Serve it hot.
