ABOUT Daal stuffed Poori RECIPE

It is a very traditional recipe in which chana daal mixture is stuffed inside poori , deep fried and served with Zarda and masala fish... It is a tradition in North that whenever a son is married this is must to cooked in which the newly bride also participates in cooking

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Chana dal 1 cup
  2. Haldi powder 1tsp
  3. Salt 1 tsp
  4. Cumin seeds 1tsp
  5. All purpose flour 3 cup
  6. Desi ghee 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak daal overnight
  2. Wash and Put the daal in pressure cooker with salt and haldi, and 1 cup water
  3. Boil for 15 minutes so that the daal is soft and easy to grind
  4. Drain all the water and grind in the mixi
  5. Add cumin seeds and adjust salt as there is no salt in atta dough
  6. Knead Maida into a soft dough and keep to rest for an hour
  7. Fill the daal mixture in the dough and roll like a poori
  8. Heat tawa and cook the poori for a minute on each side
  9. Then deep fry in desi ghee and serve with Zarda or masala fish
