  • wheat grass 100 gms
  • Cherry tomatoes 8
  • tamarind 1 small lemon size
  • Rasam powder 1 and 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Musturd 1/2 tsp
  • garlic 2 cloves
  • cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chilli 1
  • curry leaves a few
  • coriander leaves- few
  • salt to taste
  • hing cake 1 small piece
  • water 500 ml

How to make Wheat Grass Rasam

  1. Wash the wheat grass thoroughly. Also soak the tamarind in water and take the juice out of it.
  2. Blend the wheat grass and tamarind water together. (Add additional water if needed but not beyond 500 ml.)
  3. Strain the wheat grass juice and throw the extra fiber which comes out after straining.
  4. Take a cooking pot and add the hing cake, tomatoes, wheat grass and tamarind juice, turmeric, salt, curry leaves and allow it to boil. Once it is boiling, add the rasam powder and turn off the gas once it becomes frothy.
  5. Temper with ghee, mustard, red chilli, garlic and cumin seeds and add them to the rasam.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot.

My Tip:

Keep the gas in a low flame and keep an eye on the rasam as it may overflow while boiling.
