About Thandai Recipe

Thandai is a summer drink . It is famous in uttar pradesh . It is specially made in holi festival.

Ingredients to make Thandai

  • 1 litre full fat milk and little more .
  • 10 pieces almonds.
  • 10 pieces cashwnuts.
  • 10 pieces pistachio and 4to5 for garnish .
  • 1spoon green cardamom powder.
  • 5 pieces black pappercorn .
  • 2spoon poppy seeds
  • 2spoon gulkand .
  • sugar as per taste.
  • Some saffron strands.

How to make Thandai

  1. Soak Almonds, cashwnuts, pistachio, Poppy seeds , fennel seeds, black pepper corn for one to two hours.
  2. Remove Almonds skin and grind all soaked ingredients with some water.
  3. Than strain the grinded mixture and keep aside .
  4. take a heavy bottom pan add milk and start boiling.
  5. When A boil comes add saffron and grinded mixture.
  6. Cook 10to 15mintues at low flame.
  7. Add gulkand ,sugar , and cardamom powder and mix well.
  8. Remove from stove and cool down .
  9. Keep it into freez for 2hours for chilling .
  10. Pour thandai into glasses and garnish with chopped pistachio, rose petal and saffron strands.
  11. Serve chilled and enjoy.
