Lagan seekh, a traditional bohri speciality, is a delectable baked preparation made using mutton mince, eggs and other ingredients to tender it the lip snacking flavour n texture. Although its a baked dish it can b prepared on stovetop too. This dish is a serves as a great delicacy and is a super hit party appetizer!!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. :diamonds:️MARINATION:diamonds:️
  2. -mutton mince 500 gms
  3. -ginger paste 1.5 tbsp
  4. -garlic paste 0.5 tbsp
  5. -green chilli paste 1 tbsp
  6. -coriander chopped 1 tbsp
  7. -mint chopped 1 tbsp
  8. -red chilli powder 2 tsp
  9. -coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  10. -turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  11. -cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  12. -garam masala 1 tsp
  13. -salt to taste

  15. -1 large onion golden fried(birista)
  16. -oil 6 tbsp
  17. -bread slices 4 nos
  18. -milk 1/4 cup or more
  19. -eggs 4
  20. -lemon juice 2 tbsp
  21. -ginger julienne & chopped coriander for garnish
  22. -ketchup & lemon slices for serving


  1. :large_orange_diamond:Marination:large_orange_diamond: Wash mince and strain. Remove excess water by pressing mince in the strainer with a large spoon. In a bowl take mince meat, ginger, garlic , green chili, mint, fresh coriander, 1 ½ tsp red chili, coriander, turmeric, salt, cumin and all spice powder . Mix well and marinate for 2 hours. (You can smoke qeema at this stage)
  2. :large_orange_diamond:Assembling and Baking:large_orange_diamond: Preheat the oven and grease an 8" x 5" baking dish. In a plate mix bread and milk. Mix well to form a mixture with no lump. Add more milk it required. Set aside. Crush fried onion and set aside. After two hour add fried onions and bread to the mixture and mix well. Now add 1 beaten egg and lemon juice to mince and mix well. Spread the mince mixture even in 8' x 5' baking dish, the layer of mixture should be of 1.5 inch. Beat three egg lightly with ½ red chili powder and salt. Pour a layer of eggs on the mince. Heat oil till smoking hot and pour evenly on the eggs. ( You can use same oil you used to fry onions.) Place the dish in oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes at gas mark 6, 200 C, 400 F on lowest shelf. Do rotate the tray after 15 minutes for even cooking. Lagan ki seekh is ready when eggs are cooked. :diamonds:️Serve freshly baked with a slice of lemon and ketchup...:yum::yum::yum:
