Bundi Ladoo

Ingredients to make Bundi Ladoo

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 spoon rawa (suji)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of orange colour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • Some chopped almonds, handful
  • Few pistachios to garnish
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Purified butter (deshi ghee) as required for frying

How to make Bundi Ladoo

  1. Take a bowl, sift in the gram flour, baking powder, rawa and orange colour. Then add water and make a batter that is not too thick or thin.
  2. Take a pan, put in the purified butter to heat. (I used a grater to make the bundi)
  3. Pour the batter into a strainer and fry this bundi at a medium flame.
  4. Meanwhile to make the sugar syrup, take a pot, add sugar and 1/2 cup of water to heat.
  5. Cook the sugar syrup till you get one string consistency, then add in the cardamom powder. Then put in the lemon juice, add the bundi and chopped dry fruits. Mix it well together.
  6. Now take half of the bundi and grind it well. Mix it with the remaining bundi, then pour in the milk and make ladoos with soft hands.
  7. Garnish it with pistachios and serve.

My Tip:

If you want two types of bundi, then divide the batter into two parts. Add the green colour in one part and orange in the second part.
