Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Maida - 1 cup
  2. Hot oil - 3 tsp
  3. Salt
  4. Water to make dough
  5. Shredded coconut - 2 cups
  6. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  7. Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  8. Hing - a pinch
  9. Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  10. turmeric powder a pinch
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  13. Curry leaves a few

Instructions

  1. Make a pliable dough with the maida, hot oil, salt and water, but not too soft. Keep aside
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add urad dal, mustard seeds and hing. When mustard seeds splutter put in the coconut and add all the other ingredients. Fry for a while. Keep aside to cool
  3. Heat oil for frying.
  4. Make balls from the dough and roll into a small puri. Fill with the coconut mixture. Close on all sides properly, roll a little and deep fry.
  5. Serve hot with tea.
