Mushroom Makhana

Ingredients to make Mushroom Makhana

  • mushroom diced 2 cups
  • Puffed lotus seeds 1 cup
  • onions diced 1 cup
  • tomatoes diced 1 cup
  • cream/Malai 3-4 tbsp
  • oil 3 tbsp
  • green chillies, chopped 3
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Degi mirch 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • ginger garlic chopped 2 tbsp
  • coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp

How to make Mushroom Makhana

  1. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, degi mirch, turmeric, ginger, garlic, onions one by one and saute until translucent.
  2. Add green chillies, tomatoes, coriander powder and saute till oil separates.
  3. Now add mushrooms, salt to taste, cover and cook on a low heat till done.
  4. In another pan, dry roast makhane and add to mushrooms. Cover and cook for about 5-8 minutes stirring occasionally.
  5. Add cream, garam masala and coriander leaves. Serve hot.

My Tip:

Wash mushrooms and immediately pat dry with cloth else they leave too much water. If health conscious, do not add cream.
