It is a traditional indian sweet which is flavoured with saffron.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 250 gms desiccated coconut
  2. 100 gms Sugar
  3. 100 gms grated mawa
  4. 2 tbsp chopped badam
  5. 2 tbsp chopped pistachios
  6. 1/2 tsp saffron strands
  7. 1 litre full fat milk
  8. Some ghee to grease the thali


  1. Heat desiccated coconut, milk and saffron in a non stick pan.
  2. After a boil, let it soak for at least 3 hours. After that, heat it again on a high flame till it boils.
  3. Simmer and cook for a few minutes, keep stirring so as to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  4. Let the mixture become thick, add in sugar. Let the sugar dissolve completely.
  5. Add in the grated mawa and mix well. Continue cooking on a medium flame and wait for the mixture to leave the sides of the pan and accumulate to one side, lika dough.
  6. Spread this mixture on the greased thali, press it evenly. Sprinkle chopped pistachios and badam all over. Press them with a spoon.
  7. Once it cools down then keep it in the fridge to set properly. After it is set, cut in desired shape and serve.
