Ingredients to make Kheer

  • rice 1 cup
  • Milk 1.5 litres
  • sugar as to taste
  • Dry fruits (Optional)
  • elaichi powder just a pinch
  • kesar a few strands

How to make Kheer

  1. Wash and soak rice for 5 minutes.
  2. Take a saucepan, add milk and let it boil.
  3. When the milk boils, add rice and let it cook. Stir occasionally.
  4. Add kesar, elaichi powder and sugar. Let it become more thick.
  5. Check the consistency of kheer and if the thickness is ok, turn off the gas and let it cool.
  6. Kheer is ready. Serve it hot or chilled.
  7. Before serving, add dry fruits for garnishing.

My Tip:

I used Mota chawal.
