ABOUT Club Kachori RECIPE

I have learnt this dish from my maternal aunt (mamisa) and bhabhi. A perfect breakfast or party snack, yummy and easy to make.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. maida 250 gms
  2. Urad flour 50 gms
  3. salt as per taste
  4. oil for frying
  5. potatoes - 250 gms (Boiled and cut into pieces)
  6. tomato - 1
  7. onion - 1
  8. Green chili - 1
  9. oil - 2 tbsp for curry
  10. kalonji - 1/2 tsp
  11. cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  12. Bay leaf - 1
  13. Mango powder as per taste
  14. Red chili powder as per taste
  15. Garam masala as per taste
  16. salt as per taste
  17. coriander powder 1 to 2 tsp
  18. water as required

Instructions

  1. Knead a dough by mixing maida, urad dal flour and salt. Make a little bit tight dough and keep aside. After an hour just make small equal balls from the dough. Roll each ball in the shape of small puris with a rolling pin.
  2. Fry all puris in hot oil on a medium flame, serve puris hot.
  3. For curry, first make a paste from tomato, onion and green chili. Now take a pan on medium flame, add two tbsp oil, add bay leaf, cumin seeds and kalonji. After a minute, add the paste and saute it till it cooks.
  4. Add garam masala, red chili powder, salt and mango powder.
  5. Add coriander powder, I added 4 tsp, mix it well and add water to make a liquid gravy.
  6. Add in potatoes and cook for two minutes. Curry is ready to serve with hot puris, garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
