ABOUT Gujarati methi Ganthiya RECIPE

This recipe is also i have learnt from my maternal aunt, a traditional Gujarati dish but made with little twist. A healthy snack can made in two ways, steaming or by frying.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Maize flour (makkai) - 250gm
  2. Gram flour - 50gm
  3. Methi leaves - 100gm , washed and chopped
  4. Seasame seeds - 1 tea spoon
  5. Garam masala - half tea spoon
  6. Mustard seeds - half tea spoon
  7. Meetha soda - half tea spoon
  8. Red chilli pwd - as per taste
  9. Salt - as per taste
  10. Chaat masala - as per taste
  11. Garlic and green chilli - chopped 1
  12. Water - for kneading dough
  13. Oil - for fry

Instructions

  1. First take a bowl, mix all ingredients except mustard seeds, chaat masala and oil. Knead a dough like a puri dough using sufficient water, not too soft.
  2. Now divide the dough into small equal balls, and shape them rolls by using your hands - fist.
  3. Now put the steamer on medium flame and steam all muthiyas for about 8 minutes.
  4. After steaming complete, take out in plate and give tadka of mustard seeds or just cut them into small pieces and deep fry them and sprinkle chaat masala and serve it.

Check the name of the recepie. It should be Gujarati Muthia.
