Navratri special...Chole without onion and garlic with haldiram style bhatura.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ingredients for Chole-
  2. 2 cups over night soaked Kabuli channa
  3. 3-4 red Tomatoes
  4. 3-4 green Chillies
  5. 1 inch piece Ginger
  6. 2 tsp Chola masala (I have used everest masala that is without onion and garlic)
  7. 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  8. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  9. 1 tsp kasoori methi
  10. 2 tbsp Oil
  11. Salt for taste
  12. Ingredients for bhatura-
  13. 1/2 kg maida
  14. Drinking soda for combining the dough
  15. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  16. 1/2 tsp Salt
  17. 1 tsp sugar
  18. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Method of making chole Wash the soaked channa and boil it till tender. Heat oil in deep pan. Grind tomatoes chilli and ginger to fine paste, add it to hot oil, add chola masala garam masala and red chilli.Cook till it leaves oil, now add boiled chola salt and kasoori methi.If needed can add little water and cook till the chola is coated with masala and gravy is thick..Without onion garlic Chole is ready to serve with garam garam bhatura.
  2. Method of making bhatura- Mix maida soda and salt and 2 tbsp oil, now add drinking soda and make a soft dough, don't add water, keep it for rest for 1/2 hr and then make small size balls and with the help of roller pin make bhatura and deep fry from both the sides till golden and serve them hot with prepared Chole. Enjoy!
