In our country on any festival or occasion sweets are most wanted to celebrate and we used to made different kinds of sweets.So in this diwali I tried my hands on parwal ki mithai which is all time favourite sweet of my family.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 500 gm patal of big size
  2. 300 gm sugar
  3. 200 gm mawa
  4. 50 gm almond ,cashew nuts powder
  5. 1 tea spoon cardamom powder
  6. 1 pinch green food colour(optional)
  7. 2 tea spoon slaked lime(chuna)

Instructions

  1. Wash the patal and Peel it
  2. Cut it from the middle but not totally ,leave it to joint from bottom side
  3. With the help of knife remove it's seed and materials so that it's hole should ready
  4. In a big container take water and slaked lime and soak the patal for 4-5 hours
  5. Now shift the patal from slaked lime water to boiling water and add colour to it
  6. Boil it for 5 minutes
  7. Off the flame and cover the container
  8. On cooling drain it well in a chalni
  9. Roast the mawa on low flame and add the almond, cashew powder, cardamom powder and 2 tbsp sugar
  10. Mix it well
  11. On gas in a container add sugar and half cup water.When sugar is dissolve add patal
  12. When one thread sugar syrup is made off the flame and leave the patal into the syrup for 10 minutes
  13. Now take out all the patal from syrup.On cooling fill its hole with mawa mixture
  14. Parwal ki mithai is ready
