ABOUT Nolengur kheer (dates nectar jaggery rice kheer) RECIPE

Creamy kheer with delicious nolengur which is seasonal as nolengur is available only during winter season

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Milk - 1.25 litre
  2. Nolengur (dates nectar jaggery) - 1 cup )
  3. Gobindobhog rice (small grain rice with a fragrance - 1/4 th cup
  4. Chopped pistachios and kismis (for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk and simmer it while stirring, reduce it to 3/4th amount.
  2. Add the washed rice into the milk and cook till done.
  3. Make sure that you keep stirring it otherwise it may burn at the bottom of the vessel.
  4. Now switch off the flame and cool for 5 minutes, then add the nolengur (jaggery) and mix.
  5. Cool and serve with chopped pistachios on top.
