Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Brinjal - 2 cut into rounds
  2. Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  3. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Hing powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Rice powder - 1 and 1/2 tbsp
  7. Oil for shallow frying


  1. Wash and cut brinjals onto roundels.
  2. Marinate with salt, red chilli powder, hing powder and turmeric powder. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
  3. Do not add any water as the marinated brinjal will leave water.
  4. Add rice powder and mix well. Coat each brinjal slice with the masala.
  5. Heat a tawa. Sprinkle a few drops of oil. Arrange the masala coated brinjals on the tawa. Then flip on the other side. Roast both sides well and serve hot as an accompaniment for lunch.
