Brinjal Tawa Fry

Ingredients to make Brinjal Tawa Fry

  • Brinjal - 2 cut into rounds
  • red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
  • salt to taste
  • hing powder - 1/2 tsp
  • rice powder - 1 and 1/2 tbsp
  • oil for shallow frying

How to make Brinjal Tawa Fry

  1. Wash and cut brinjals onto roundels.
  2. Marinate with salt, red chilli powder, hing powder and turmeric powder. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
  3. Do not add any water as the marinated brinjal will leave water.
  4. Add rice powder and mix well. Coat each brinjal slice with the masala.
  5. Heat a tawa. Sprinkle a few drops of oil. Arrange the masala coated brinjals on the tawa. Then flip on the other side. Roast both sides well and serve hot as an accompaniment for lunch.

My Tip:

Please use soft variety of brinjal for preparing baingan ka bharta.
