A boozy refreshing merry drink

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tamarind paste 100g
  2. Water 500ml
  3. Sugar 130gm
  4. Lime juice 3tbsp
  5. Vodka 15ml
  6. Ginger 1/2 inch piece per serving
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Mint leaves to garnish
  9. Black pepper optional


  1. Mix the tamarind pulp and water and bring to boil
  2. Allow to cool and then sieve this mixture. Keep pulp aside
  3. Put this mixture back on low heat and add sugar. Dissolve it without boiling the mixture
  4. Add salt to taste to give it that tangy salty flavour.
  5. Freeze this mixture in an aluminium tin covered with plastic wrap for 4-5 hours . It will have a soft slush like consistency which can be scooped.
  6. In a glass take 15ml vodka (soda for nonalcoholic) and add the ginger piece.
  7. Squeeze lime and top it off with sorbet scoops.
  8. Garnish with mint
