Peas Masala

Ingredients to make Peas Masala

  • masala for grinding -
  • onions - 2 roughly chopped
  • green chillies - 5
  • garlic cloves - 5
  • cloves- 2
  • cinnamon - 1 small piece
  • star anise - 2
  • handful of coriander leaves
  • Other Ingredients -
  • Green peas - 1 cup
  • tomato - 1
  • capsicum - 1
  • haldi powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 2 tsp
  • Crushed pepper - a little(optional)

How to make Peas Masala

  1. Soak green peas in hot water for 4 hours or normal water overnight.
  2. Heat a kadai and roast all the ingredients under masala section except coriander leaves for 5 minutes on a low flame. Add little oil while roasting.
  3. Cool the mixture and blend it along with fresh coriander leaves.
  4. Heat a kadai. Splutter jeera.
  5. Add tomatoes and cook till soft.
  6. Now add ground masala and saute.
  7. Add turmeric powder and garam masala.
  8. Add boiled green peas and salt. You can add little water used for boiling green peas.
  9. Bring to boil and add chopped capsicum.
  10. Switch off the flame and garnish with crushed pepper.

My Tip:

You can use frozen green peas too. Please take care while sauteeing masala ingredients not to roast them too much.

khandita :) green peas Annu overnight soak Maadi. ondu patre yalli swalpa Neeru haaki half boil Maadi..cooker Nalli hakidre over cook agtade..almost boil Maadi switch off Maadi..ondu banaliyalli coconut oil bisi Maadi, sasive, jeerige, hasimenasu, karibevu haki..beyisida batani haaki. swalpa haladi, uppu haaki boil Maadi..batani mudde agabaradu..uduruduru irabeku..kayi turi haaki garnish Maadi..:)
