Green peas masala made with fresh green peas is very tasty and goes well with roti or naan

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. One cup boiled fresh green peas
  2. Two diced tomatoes
  3. One diced onion
  4. Few capsicum slices
  5. Two chopped green chillies
  6. Two garlic cloves
  7. Half teaspoon cumin seeds
  8. Two cloves
  9. Two cardamom
  10. Small inch cinnamon
  11. Bay leaf
  12. One teaspoon coriander powder
  13. Half teaspoon garam masala
  14. Half teaspoon red chilli powder
  15. Pinch of turmeric powder
  16. Salt as per taste
  17. Roasted cashews for garnishing


  1. Before starting the procedure boil fresh green peas and keep ready
  2. Take a vessel and add little oil to it. When oil is heated add cinnamon,bayleaf,cloves,cardamom
  3. Even add garlic cloves,sliced onions,green chillies and saute until onions are cooked
  4. Cool and blend the above sauted onions spice mixture to paste
  5. Take the same vessel and add few teaspoon oil to it. When is heated add half teaspoon cumin seeds
  6. When cumin seeds splutter add diced tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy
  7. Once tomatoes become mushy add blended paste and give a mix
  8. Add all spices teaspoon coriander powder and half teaspoon garam masala powder which gives nice flavour to dish
  9. Add half teaspoon red chilli powder,pinch of turmeric powder,salt as per taste and mix so that all spices gets blended with tomatoes and onion paste
  10. Final step is to add cup of boiled fresh green peas and give a mix( If necessary add little water and make gravy consistency)
  11. Finally add few capsicum slices,mix everything and cover and cook for few minutes
  12. Garnish with fried cashews and serve hot with some roti or naan
