Ingredients to make Lauki Upkari

  • bottle gourd cubed - 1
  • oil - 1 tsp
  • mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies - 3
  • Grated coconut for garnishing
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Lauki Upkari

  1. Heat a pan. Add oil and splutter mustard and cumin seeds.
  2. Add slit green chillies.
  3. Add cubed bottle gourd pieces.
  4. Sprinkle turmeric powder, salt and little water.
  5. Close the lid keeping the flame medium.
  6. Garnish with grated coconut if required.

My Tip:

Do not add more water for this dish as the bottle gourd itself leaves water.
