Spongy dosa

Ingredients to make Spongy dosa

  • Raw rice - 1 1/4 cup
  • Boiled rice - 1/4 cup
  • urad dal - 1/2 cup
  • Beaten rice/ poha - 1/2 cup
  • methi seeds - a few( optional)
  • salt to taste
  • oil

How to make Spongy dosa

  1. Soak all the ingredients except poha, salt and oil for 5 hours.
  2. Add poha to the soaked mixture 30 minutes before grinding.
  3. Grind to a smooth batter. Add salt while grinding.
  4. Keep for 6-7 hours for fermentation.
  5. Heat a pan. Add oil. Pour a ladle full of batter. Let the batter spread by itself.
  6. Close the lid and set the flame to low.
  7. No need to flip the dosa.
  8. Serve hot with chutney.
