Ingredients to make Desi lasagne

  • Chopped mix vegetables :
  • onions 2 tbsp
  • tomato 1 tbsp
  • Bell peppers tri colour 3 tbsp
  • Sweet corns 2 tbsp
  • Red sauce :
  • tomato 2
  • carrot 1
  • cloves 2
  • cinnamon 1 inch stick
  • Black pepper corn 5-6
  • Whole red chillies 2
  • salt 1/2 tsp
  • vinegar 1 tsp
  • sugar 1 tbsp
  • White sauce :
  • Hung curd 1/2 cup
  • cottage cheese 3/4 cup
  • salt 1/3 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1/3 tsp
  • Italian seasoning 1/2 tsp
  • Lasagne sheets :
  • Whole wheat flour 1/4 cup
  • Oats powder 1/6 cup
  • salt

How to make Desi lasagne

  1. To prepare the red sauce, boil the chopped tomatoes and carrot with cloves, black pepper corn, cinnamon, red chillies and salt in little water till carrots become soft.
  2. Cool and grind to a smooth paste with vinegar and sugar.
  3. To prepare the white sauce, Churn all ingredients of white sauce in mixer.
  4. For the lasagne sheets, Knead a soft dough using both flours.
  5. Prepare two regular chappatis out of rolled dough. Keep them half cook.
  6. Cut small rounds out of cooked chappatis considering the size of bowls in which lasagne is going to be baked.
  7. Arrange lasagne in separate bowls. First pour 1 tbsp red sauce at the base of bowl. Now place two chappati rounds. Layer again with red sauce. Place two table spoon chopped mix vegetables over red sauce. Top with white sauce. repeat the above procedure.
  8. Top with crumbled cottage cheese. Sprinkle some salt, pepper and Italian seasoning.
  9. Finally top with some red sauce.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Serve hot.
