ABOUT Ponganalu RECIPE

Yummy fermented batter made with rice and urad dal which can be made into ponganalu or Dosa.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Raw rice 2 cups
  2. Fenugreek seeds 1 tsp
  3. urad dal 1 cup
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Cooking soda a pinch
  6. oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Soak rice, urad dal and fenugreek seeds for 7-8 hrs.
  2. Grind it into a smooth paste.
  3. Ferment for 6-7 hrs.
  4. Add cooking soda, salt to taste and combine well.
  5. Pour few drops of oil into the ponganalu pan.
  6. Place the flame into medium.
  7. Pour batter into each depression and allow it to cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  8. It will cook to golden color.
