Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
  2. Butter beans - 1 cup
  3. Kashmiri red chillies - 10
  4. Tamarind - little
  5. Rice flour - 1/2 tbsp
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Garlic pods - 15


  1. Soak butter beans in water overnight. The level of water should be double the amount of beans as it increases in size.
  2. Pressure cook these beans for 2-3 whistles.
  3. Take a pan. Add little oil and dry roast kashmiri red chillies.
  4. Take a mixer. Add grated coconut, fried kashmiri red chillies, tamarind and rice powder. Grind to a smooth paste adding required water.
  5. Take a vessel. Add the ground masala. Add boiled butter beans and salt. Bring to a boil. Keep stirring occassionally.
  6. Once boiled switch off the flame.
  7. Take a frying pan. Add coconut oil. Shallow fry crushed garlic pods till brown.
  8. Add it to the cooked gravy and close the lid immediately.
  9. Serve hot with rice.
