Ingredients to make One pot meal

  • 1 cup half cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup half cooked tuar dal
  • 1+1 onion sliced
  • 2 green chilli
  • 4 tbsp thick curd
  • 1/2 cup cooked mix vegetables(I have used leftover mix vegetables )
  • 4-5 black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2-3 green cardamom
  • 2 dry red chilli
  • 1/3 tsp asafoetida
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • salt

How to make One pot meal

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add all the dry masale
  2. When they start cracking add sliced onion and fry till light brown in color
  3. Add cooked veggies and curd mix it for few seconds
  4. Now add dal rice salt and enough water so that dal and rice can cook properly
  5. Put the lid on the pan and let it cook till the water is absorbed and dal and rice are completely cooked
  6. Take another pan add ghee and fry sliced onion till golden brown in color
  7. Take out the cooked khichdi in a pot or plate and put the fried onion and ghee on it and serve it hot with papa salad and riata

My Tip:

Don't put lot if water of overcook the khichdi otherwise all tge veggies will mix in it and it will not give a tempting look to your dish
