Tasty and healthy filling paratha. This is a creation of mine has both potatoes and methi, which makes them delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For stuffing:
  2. Potatoes - 4 medium
  3. Methi leaves - a handful, chopped
  4. Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
  5. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Garam Masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Dry mango powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. To make a paste:
  10. Green Chillies - 2
  11. Coriander leaves - a handful
  12. Garlic Cloves -2
  13. For outer dough:
  14. Wheat flour : 2 cups
  15. Maida - 1 cup
  16. Water for kneading the dough
  17. Salt
  18. Butter for frying parathas


  1. Make a paste of green chillies, garlic and coriander leaves. Keep aside.
  2. Wash methi leaves thoroughly in water and chop it finely.
  3. Boil, peel and mash potatoes. Add it to a bowl.
  4. Add salt, turmeric, garam masala powder, green chilli paste, methi leaves( drained to remove water), dry mango powder and cumin seeds.
  5. Mix well. Make equal sized balls. This is stuffing masala.
  6. Now knead the paratha dough. Make equal sized balls.
  7. Roll them into poori size and keep the stuffing masala in the centre. Close the paratha and roll again.
  8. Repeat the same step for the remaining stuffing.
  9. Take a frying pan. Add butter or ghee and roast well on both sides.
  10. Serve hot with butter or curd.
