ABOUT South Indian Idli RECIPE

Idli is a very nutritious and tasty south indian rice cake.It is steamed which gives it additional swiftness and tastes amazing witg any sambar,coconut chutney,chana dal chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cup rice(Usna rice soaked for 4 hrs)
  2. 1 cup dal (soaked for 4 hrs)
  3. Half cup Poha (soaked for half hr)
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Eno (fruit salt)


  1. Take grinder and grind the rice and dal together.Make a smooth paste.
  2. Now grind the Poha and mix In the same material of rice and dal.Add salt.And leave the batter for 12 hrs.
  3. Mix the batter with eno and mix it well.Take a idli pot and grase it well.And pour the idli batter in idli stand.And cook it for 20mins.
  4. After 20 mins your idli will be ready to eat.
