ABOUT Simple puffed PURI from whole wheat flour RECIPE

Puri is a deep- fried indian bread. Commonly cosumed for breakfast or as a snack. It is usually served with a curry or bhaji. Who hates puri? i dont think so anyone,may be few who dont like it, it is famous in all age group and children love the most.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Whole wheat flour 2 cup
  2. Asafoetida a pinch
  3. Salt a pinch
  4. Water 1 1/4 cup or as required
  5. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. Take a big bowl add in whole wheat flour, asafoetida and salt mix properly .
  2. Add water little by little to make medium tight dough.
  3. I used water around 1 1/4 cup but it might differ depending on the quality of the flour so add it little by little while kneading.
  4. Cover the dough with wet muslin cloth and keep it aside for 10 min.
  5. Again knead the dough well for 2-3 min . The dough should not stick in your hand.
  6. Keep this dough in air tight container inside the fridge for 20 min.
  7. Take out the dough from fridge and divide the dough into 12 equal tennis size balls
  8. Roll out into small circle not too thin nor too thick.
  9. Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadai.
  10. When the oil is sufficiently hot not too hot drop the puri one at a time and fry gently pressing down with the frying spoon.
  11. Turn over when puffed up and fry the puri till golden brown in medium high flame.
  12. Serve hot with your favourite dish like aloo gobhi,matar paneer etc
