Theplas are an inherent part of gujarati meals, and are used for regular meals, travelling and for picnic! eaten with pickle or curd.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Whole Wheat Flour 1 1/2 cup
  2. Green garlic finely chopped 1/4 cup
  3. Sesame seeds 1tsp
  4. Bajra flour 1/4cup
  5. Oil 2 to 3tbsp
  6. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  7. Cumin powder 1/2tsp
  8. Jira powder 1/2tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil for kneading and cooking

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead in to a soft dough using enough water
  2. Divide the dough in to 10 equal portion
  3. Roll out each portion using a little wheat flour for rolling
  4. Heat nonstick tava and cook each thepla on a medium flame using a little oil, till it turns golden brown in colour from both sides.
  5. Serve hot with curd or pickle or potato subji
