Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Thick beaten rice 2 cups
  2. Peanuts 1/4 cup
  3. Almonds 10-12
  4. oil 2 tbsp
  5. Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Asafoetida a pinch
  7. Green chillies 2 slit into half
  8. Onion finely chopped 1
  9. Boiled peas 1/2 cup
  10. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Sugar to taste
  13. Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Wash the poha under cold water. Drain the excess and keep it aside for 5-6 mins.
  2. Heat oil, fry the peanuts and almonds for 2-3 mins. Keep aside
  3. Heat more oil, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, green chillies, onions and saute till the onions are soft and translucent. Now add the peas.
  4. Now add turmeric. Mix well, add the poha and peanuts and almonds
  5. Season with enough salt and sugar.
  6. Keep the lid on for 5-7 mins. Open the lid, stir and switch off the Gas.
  7. Serve piping hot with generous squeeze of lime.
