ABOUT Rajma Masala RECIPE

The very Punju favourite Rajma chawal , Kidney beans/Rajma cooked in typical North Indian style.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 grams Rajma of your choice
  2. 3 medium size tomatoes
  3. 2 medium size onions
  4. 1 tblspn ginger paste
  5. 1 tspn garlic paste
  6. 1 tblspoon ghee
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 1tspn cumin coriander powder
  9. 1/2 tspn roasted cummin powder
  10. 1 tspn Garam Masala
  11. 1 1/2 tspn red chilli powder hot or mild as per choice

Instructions

  1. Soak rajma over night
  2. Wash change water and boil with salt ginger paste for 15-20minutes
  3. Make puree of tomatoes
  4. Chop onions fine
  5. Heat ghee , saute onions with garlic paste
  6. Add tomatoes and all spices mix well,cook for ten minutes
  7. To this add the boiled Rajma mix well
  8. Simmer for 5 minutes on high flame
  9. Remove to serve hot with steamed rice or parathas as per choice and garnish with corriander leaves
