Egg Kaliya is a very popular bengali dish. It is a very rich and delicious preparation. Here i present it in my way.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 4 egg
  2. 1 big sized potato cut into four halves
  3. 2 medium sized onions paste
  4. 2 Tablespoons Ginger-Garlic Paste
  5. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  6. 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  7. 1 bay leaf
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  10. 11/2 teaspoons red chilli powder
  11. 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  12. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  13. 1 tablespoon red chilli sauce
  14. 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  15. 1 tablespoon thick curd
  16. 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  17. Pinch of sugar
  18. 1 teaspoon ghee
  19. Refined oil

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs and potatoes.
  2. Take a non-stick pan and heat the oil.
  3. Little fry boil potatoes and boil eggs and keep aside.
  4. In the same oil add cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks, bay leaf.
  5. Add onion paste, ginger and garlic paste and mix well untill brown and the oil separates.
  6. Next add curd and mix well.
  7. Next add tomato sauce and red chilli sauce. Mix well.
  8. Now add all the masala powders and little water. Mix.
  9. Add ghee and pinch of sugar.
  10. Add eggs and potatoes and mix.
  11. Now add 1 cup of hot water and covered for sometimes.
  12. When the gravy is thick serve hot with rice or roti.

Nice one dear. And I love addition of Ghee. I love to add in the end in many recipes. Even in Upama if you add just 1 tsp ghee at the end, the flavor, just wow.
