ABOUT Fish fry RECIPE

Fish coated in gram flour with spices and shallow fried till crispy. Very easy to prepare. It is very delicious and mouth watering !!!! Eat with Rotis or Fish curry-Rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Black pomfret ( Halwa ) 6-7 pieces cleaned and washed ( 3 times wash )
  2. salt as per taste
  3. Turmeric 1 pinch
  4. Gram flour/ besan 1/2 cup
  5. Kashmiri chilli powder 1 1/2 tsp
  6. Coriander seed powder ( Dhaniya powder ) 1/2 tsp
  7. Garam masala 1 tsp
  8. oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Take fish pieces in a bowl. Add 1 tsp salt, turmeric. Mix with hand and keep covered with a lid to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Wash fish pieces so that excess salt will go out.
  3. Heat a nonstick fry pan on a medium flame . Add a ladlefull oil to it.
  4. Take a plate. Add gram flour( Besan) and spices to it. Add little salt ( as we have already marinated fish with salt ) and mix well.
  5. Coat well 3 to 4 fish pieces from both sides in this flour mixture and place on a frying pan.
  6. Dont stir it, keep it as it is Let it be crispy from below side. Dont make gas low, fish should get fry on medium flame.
  7. After 2-3 minutes check whether it is fried from below or not. ( See pic below. Fish should look like this.) If it is fried, turn fish pieces.
  8. If u feel oil is less, pour some oil from sides of pan.
  9. Fry till both sides are crispy and take it into a plate.
  10. Fry all pieces like this and serve with Rotis/Rice.
